With a bit of sadness, but mostly excited liberation, we packed up the ProntoLabs this week and placed it in storage for a few month hiatus. The chilly, crappy, sweaty, noisy, complainy confines of our facility on Prince Street in Brooklyn, finally became too much to bear. A new studio situation is developing and I’ll have more to say on that when there’s more to say. In the meantime, here are a pair of videos from the last couple of days.

The End Of Prince Street 2010:
Happy New Year!
The Solid Sound Festival is a 3-day Wilco curated music, comedy and arts festival being held at Mass MoCA in North Adams, MA, August 13-15th. The lineup includes:

July is here! My clothes have been sticking to places I never knew I had which must mean it’s summertime in New York!
In a thinly veiled attempt to bridge this gooey time of year and Pronto, I present two opportunities to hear us play music this summer:
1. Sunday, July 18th at Pianos in NYC with Todd Barry.
I know I’m excited. We’re thinking about 8pm, so after changing into your play-clothes, head out to the Lower East Side for music and comedy.
2. Friday, August 13th at Solid Sound Festival in North Adams, MA at Mass MoCA.
Solid Sound Festival is a Wilco curated festival. Apart from a ripping set by Wilco, you’ll get to see all the Wilco members’ side projects and some of our favorite bands, comedians, artists, like Mavis Staples, Vetiver, Cassandra C. Jones, Todd Barry, Kristen Schaal, and check the schedule for much much more: How about a guitar building exhibit by Frankie Montuoro? Poster printing workshops? I know Nels and Glenn are cooking up some really fun & wacky interactive installations. It’s going to be a rad ass music-fueled weekend in the Berkshires. Tickets are 91 bucks admission for all three days and you should totally go!
As you may know, the Pronto lineup changes with the seasons, and for these shows we’re lucky to have the esteemed Adam Chilenski on bass and the uncompromising Jared Samuel embrace the mantle of both guitar and keyboard duties.
In the meantime, Greg O’Keeffe and I continue work on LP02 at the Pronto Labs™ in Brooklyn and are anticipating a spring 2011 release.
All the best to you this summer!
